About Us

Prescott Engineering is a structural engineering firm dedicated to serving our clients and providing competent, knowledgeable and professional services.  Prescott Engineering was founded by Clayton Prescott on these principals.  Mr. Prescott is a licensed Professional Engineer, certified Registered Roof Consultant, and licensed Special Inspector.  In addition to these licenses and certifications, Mr. Prescott has extensive experience in restoration and waterproofing of existing structures.  With these qualifications Prescott Engineering has the ability to provide professional services for new construction and restoration of existing structures.  Prescott Engineering is here to help clients with each aspect of a construction project including condition surveying, design, bidding and negotiations, and construction monitoring.

Mr. Prescott has lived in the Tampa Bay Area his entire life and is dedicated to giving back to the community he cares so much for.  He lives in the Old Northeast District of St. Petersburg with his wife and daughter.  He is a graduate of the University of South Florida and with being committed to education, he regularly gives lectures to the engineering students there to help prepare them for what is required to become knowledgeable and successful engineers.

Mr. Prescott is dedicated to giving back to the community by being a member of Florida Task Force 3 as a Structures Specialist.  The task force serves to provide Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) services during catastrophic events.  As a Structures Specialist Mr. Prescott assists in emergency rescue and recovery operations by providing recommendations on building entry points, shoring techniques, and building movement monitoring while operations are ongoing.  Mr. Prescott has been deployed to multiple hurricane and building collapse events including Hurricanes Charley, Dennis, Ivan, Frances, Wilma, and Katrina and the single structure collapse of a local power plant facility.
